We’ve been working with London-based International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM), on a major brand refresh to coincide with their 40th anniversary.

After carrying out a stakeholder and member consultation exercise, our creative team put their heads together to develop a strong, modern identity that acknowledges the history of IIRSM but also conveys its ambition and scope.

The result is a theme based on a contemporary shield. Traditionally associated with protection, the shield provides a relevant icon to represent protection against risk.  Our design is contemporary, creating the shield from a series of overlaid irregular shapes that come together to form the complete form, using transparent colour to add texture and layering.  A spectrum of purples for the shield provides a departure from the traditional IIRSM green hues that were previously associated with the brand.  The shield is off-set with cool grey typography, lending strength to the whole identity.

r//evolution’s interpretation of the brief was extremely good and we were very impressed with the way they handled the research phase. The designs they proposed were thoughtful and stylish and we are really happy with the final result.
