Total media reach for Curry Capital 2016 came to 1,710,221
Visit Bradford engaged r//evolution to support the Curry Capital 2016 bid with media relations activity.
Objectives included:
As well as developing and delivering ongoing communication activity around strategic campaign themes to help market the district to a wider UK audience, we supported Visit Bradford with its annual entry into the Curry Capital of Britain competition in 2016.
During the campaign, we used our communications, design and digital skills, working with the team to generate a buzz around the competition and drum up support for the district’s entry. From the creation of curry flavoured crisps to Asian afternoon tea and a teddy bear’s picnic, the team at r//evolution provided on-the-ground support at partner and stakeholder meetings, media management at special events and secured interviews with high profile media outlets.
Following the campaign, Visit Bradford was awarded the accolade of Curry Capital of England for the sixth sixth consecutive year in 2016.
On the back of the award win, we worked to profile Visit Bradford’s varied offer for families and those looking for a leisure break in the UK - organising press trips and blogger visits to raise the profile of the city’s varied offer.
We appointed r//evolution because we were impressed by their track record of successfully working with businesses and organisations in the tourism sector, and our experience of the team at r//evolution certainly hasn’t disappointed – they really are our trusted experts.
